Viral marketing is rather new, and not always effective. The days of BMW Films are missed, but every now and then I run across a new campaign that renews my hope in viral marketing. Today I was reminded of a great viral website that I was introduced to months ago, but it is too good to pass up.
The site is for the Philips Bodygroom shaver. Although electric shavers are not normally a hip product, Philips is trying to strike a cord with GenX and GenYs on the issue of body hair. Meant for guys, the site which is narrated by a robe clothed late 20’s to early 30’s man discusses how shaved body hair is good for men and their libido. Using dry but pointed humor the site really does make a case for the use of the Bodygroom shaver.
Besides all of the humor in the site. Philips has done a wonderful job with navigation and clean design. The all white background is almost sterile, but is used in such a way that I hear myself saying “Less is more.”
