Duncan Wilson's Pixelnote wall makes your space more useful

Browsing the web this weekend I ran across an ingenious idea for the improvement of collaboration. Not only is the Pixelnote wall (designed by Duncan Wilson) useful, but also looks great after it starts to be used! Duncan used a bright wall color and different shades of gray to make the wall an ever changing piece of art. I just love innovation in office architecture. Now only if all our buildings had this unique of a space, we would all be more productive if not more happy.

Make sure to view Duncan Wilson’s Pixelnote wall and other work, and let me know what you think.

love it or hate it

Several months ago, the mega advertising agency Leo Burnett launched their new web site at Like it or not, it is unique. I personally love it. Yes there are user navigation challenges, but it allows your imagination to navigate the site. There are however varying opinions about Leo Burnett’s creative site.

One such person that could live without the site is Lewis Lazare at the Chicago Sun-Times. “it’s a design nightmare” Lazare wrote in his October 16, 2006 column.

I encourage you to check out both, and Lewis Lazare’s column. I would love to hear what you think. Love it or hate it, it is unique!

it’s all greek to me

As a designer, I generally create designs that have no formal copy to be slugged into the layout. Well for those of you that did not know, there is a great site out there for generating “greeked” type. It is really useful to show a client what typography would look like in a layout, without having actual copy. I reccomend everyone who does design work try this site, and free them from the bonds of trying to write something more clever than “this is not real copy, it is just a placeholder.” Give it a whirl and let me know what you think.
