About Brad Bauter

BB_Head_Shot
My name is Brad Bauter, and I blog at bauter.net which discusses the many facets of advertising, design, photography and my travels for work. I started bauter.net in 2006 to help designers with finding inspirational and helpful tips that they may not know about.

I am a graduate of St. Norbert College with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in graphic design and a minor in photography. I am an Associate Director for an employee benefits education non-profit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and have been a designer for more nearly 20 years with a number of years as an art director at an ad agency. As well as being a tech geek, I decided that I would like to post interesting and useful links, be it

Please feel free to look around, even give me some feedback or ideas. Without your help, I am only able to post things I find or know about. I use a lot of resources to find my posts, but I know there is more out there.

Enjoy!

  1. HELLO THERE!!!
    Glad to discover your site.

News with me is that Merging Talent is growing.
As an entrepreneur I find it is difficult to find help on an as needed basis I figured I may as well fill a much needed niche! If I need part-time help then I am sure there are others in my position that could use a staff during “busy-times”. So, catering to fellow entrepreneurs I am developing a database of ready, willing, and able staff to “fill-in” on short term assignments. Please feel free to give me feedback and I’m sure if we brainstorm we will find that we could assist each other too! 😉

Thanks for keeping in touch + my site will be up soon!

  2. I swear by Canon. Built like a tank and destroyable.I am a pro phphograoter shooting with Canon 5D.A good entry level Camera would be a Canon 400D or 450Dor maybe a Nikon D80.They have a lot of Mega Pixels and changeable lensesCheap lenses are fine to start with.A 18 -55 and 70-300 is mostly included as kit lens.If you don’t like the kit lenses buy a Sigma (slightly better)Best Lenses there are for Canon is the L serie.you don’t need this for entry level photography.I wouldn’t mind to have the NikonNikon D300 is ok (advanced level)Nikon D700 is very good in low light high iso(but they are both SMALL sensor size)I would love to have a full frame Nikon D3 or D3 x but see below WHY I do not wap brand:The lenses are the reason .I owa Canon 5D MKI and a 400D (as back up)the 24-70 F/2.8 L USM lens (AUS$ 2000) and a Canon 70-200 F/2.8 USM IS (AUS 2500)I am saving up for Canon 5D MK II (FULL FRAME and extremely good with low light / high iso and first camera ever to film in full frame HD, little bit comparable to Nikon D700 = small sensor and no filming so you can’t compare the two really)THINK very well about these things. BRAND.once you start, you want more and more and you will soon find yourself buying REAL GLASS lenses and once this started you won’t want to change brand any more.GOOD LUCK Was this answer helpful?
